# Managing recording in progress

During recording, you will see a small recording control widget which counts the time and allows you to control the recording.

You can use it to `finish`, `pause`, `restart`, and `delete` the recording.

To hide it, right-click it and select `Hide current recording control`. Please note that it won't appear in the final recording if you are using macOS 12.3 or above.
